As the culmination of a series of weekly tutorials and investigations, students designed layered, dynamic surface engines. Originating from specific research about connective infrastructrual systems students dissected these bridges into sequential systems of morphological behavior. Models derive structural or performative systems through inputs such as kinematics, environmental activators or stimuli, then were systemically evaluated on spatial, structural and environmental criteria. More specifically, composites of synchronous videos, running side-by-side were the evidence of these experiments. Multiple techniques were offered such as overlays, animated annotations, highlighting, and tracings to encode the visualizations. These tools operate in tandem with the larger effects of conventional and advanced rendering approaches (i.e. lighting, materials, textures, etc.).
